The Position Of Romanian Farmers' Club For Performant Agriculture Regarding The Cap Post 2020 Reform

The European Union has validated new free trade rules with Mercosur, an organization that brings together major South American producing countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay) on the 28th of June, after talks lasting more than 20 years. This Treaty, which affects nearly 770 million consumers (500 million in the EU and the rest in the Mercosur countries) should significantly increase trade between the two regions. The agreement aims to increase trade between the EU and Mercosur, for industrial and agro-food products.

The Romanian Farmers' Club has launched the series of meetings with the Romanian MEPs from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development in the European Parliament, in order to present the Club's position on the CAP reform and to establish the way to collaborate in order to promote the amendments proposed by the Romanian Farmers' Club in the CAP negotiations. The first meeting organized in Bucharest on August the 2nd was attended by performant farmers, members of the Club, and Mrs. Carmen Avram, member in the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development within the European Parliament.

The Romanian Farmers’ Club continues the series of meetings with the Romanian MEPs from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development in the European Parliament, in order to present the Club’s position on the CAP reform and to establish the way to collaborate in order to promote the amendments proposed by the Romanian Farmers’ Club in the negotiations of the CAP. Daniel Buda, Vice-President of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Developmentof the European Parliament met in Bucharest, on the 8th of August, with performant farmers, members of the Romanian Farmers’ Club and partners, as well as with the young participants in the training program launched by the Club “Young Leaders for the future of Agriculture” (2019-2020 series). 2019-2020).

The Romanian Farmers’ Club launches the study on the need for a national draining program

The Romanian Farmers’ Club launches a project for the elaboration of a study on the necessity, the opportunity and the benefits of an integrated program of rehabilitation of the draining infrastructure at the national level. As part of the program of dialogue with the Romanian authorities responsible for agriculture, the Romanian Farmers’ Club for Performant Agriculture organized a working meeting on August the 1st in Bucharest to identify and analyze the risks affecting the activity of farmers in the Banat region, mainly caused by the current state of the infrastructure and draining facilities.

The ComAgri vote of April 2, a positive result for Romanian farmers

We are glad to hear about the outcome of the vote in the April 2 meeting of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (COMAGRI) in the European Parliament. The voted proposal was a mandatory cap on EUR 100,000, but with the possibility of not applying it if EU Member States apply a redistributive payment of at least 10% of direct payments, the country-specific decision. We remind you that EU legislation now includes a similar provision, also applied by Romania, the only difference being that the redistributive payment is 5%.
